The Topix musical project was born in Trieste (Italy) in 2015 from an idea of the bassist and songwriter Francesco Cainero (co-founder of the electro/lounge team Caibedo Island and bassit from Musique Boutique Lounge band) and the guitarist and arranger Matteo Brenci who started working on the pre-production of 9 original songs written by Cainero.

The sound of the band reflects the classics of R&B and american black soul music (Marvin Gaye, Al Green) but above all the north European new soul wind leaded by artists like Ole Borud, Jarle Bernhoft, Alain Clarke (the band rearranged some songs by these artists in their live shows). The Topix creates an unique and original sound adding the characteristics of the mediterranean melodies to the rythmical and harmonical refinement typical of soul music.

The Topix made their debout on 15th april 2016 at Caffè Rossetti (the live music club of Rossetti Theater in Trieste) during the event “Not Conventional Music Session”, where played even the great italian jazz guitarist Emanuele Grafitti; since some time it’s available on YouTube the trailer of that fabolous concert .

The Topix has played for the multicultural “Luniatico Festival” (Trieste) in August 2016 and in various clubs in Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The band is booking some interest gigs in North Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia. The band published the first album “Madness of Time” with the Swiss label “Epops Music” and produced by Moreno Buttinar (drummer from the italian blues artist Mike Sponza and from the Slovenian singer Lara B). The album has been presentend on 31st of March 2017 in the jazz club Serra Hub in Trieste (Italy) and it’s available on Itunes, Spotify and Deezer and obiviously on CD.
